The Story of GREEN: Timelines of Colour, OMA Studio - 14th June

£75.00

Timelines of Colour are a unique series of workshops that give you the chance to delve, in considerable detail, into one particular colour.

By taking part in this workshop, you will journey into a colour that, although being all around us, has historically proved to be an elusive pigment on the artist’s palette.

Throughout the day you will learn about some of the ancient mineral origins of green from such sources as Malachite and Celadonite alongside some shades of green dyes from plants. Green is a colour with many associations over time, and is most certainly well represented in the living world. Come along to delve into the world of green and to find out more of its mysteries.

Throughout the day, you will experience first hand the many greens that make up our world, you will feel the raw materials which make up some of our most precious greens, and you will paint your own timeline colour chart to take home.

This workshop is a mixture of historical and colour theory as well as practical demonstrations and opportunities to make paint, ink and to dye yarn. You will go home with your own hand made paint, ink, colour chart and samples of dyed yarn.
